You have arrived at OPM2Go, your online home for Original Pilipino Music.
We have worked hard to gather here the music of Filipinos everywhere. The composers and artists, the gifted musicians and talented technicians, the lumads and expatriates, the balladeers and rockers and crooners and rappers.
Feel free to look around. You may not find Goo Goo's or Gaga's, but chances are you'll see - and hear - something you like or have been missing. And keep on coming back as we will be adding new material often!
This is the music of our hearts and minds, the music in our souls.
Welcome home.
- The OPM2Go Team
Thank you for responding to our call to help the families affected by the massive floods and landslides that resulted from the heavy rainfall of twelve straight hours of Typhoon Sendong (international name: Washi) last December 16. As of today, the death toll of this tragedy has increased to 1,236, with 211,506 persons directly affected. With more bodies being recovered from the wastelands, retrieval operations will continue along with the search, rescue, and relief operations of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).
To date, more than 52,873 persons are living in evacuation centers in the hardest struck cities of Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, Surigao del Sur, Bukidnon and Zamboanga del Norte. PRC has maintained strict 24-hour monitoring of all situations in affected municipalities, with nearly 1,000 PRC staff and volunteers deployed in the field conducting detailed assessments along with relief operations, welfare and first aid services. Hot meals have been served to 4,642 persons, food items to 52,464 persons, and non-food items (sleeping mats, mosquito nets, blankets, water, hygiene kits, clothing) to 33,424 persons. Sendong was the 19th tropical cyclone that bombarded the Philippines last 2011. The mental, physical and emotional struggle of the Sendong victims and families that remain in evacuation centers and makeshift shelters will be a long, tedious and difficult journey.
On behalf of the staff and volunteers of the Philippine Red Cross, thank you for your generous donation. We appreciate your assistance in saving suffering humanity. As we transition from the rescue and relief phases in the aftermath of TS Sendong, we enter the most crucial phase of rehabilitation of the ravaged communities. Your support will go a long way towards rebuilding the lives of those who have been most affected so that they can once again live with dignity.
At PRC, we strive to ensure that help is readily available when the need arises. We assure you that your contribution has enhanced the commitment we have in providing humanitarian services to the most vulnerable. You inspire us to perform our sworn duty in alleviating the suffering of those in need.
Thank you. You are truly a humanitarian.
